Description

1995 "Green Pu-erh" — A Traditional Fermented Tea

This tea comes from Yunnan, the birthplace of tea. This particular tea batch, fermenting since 1995, has a surprising smoky taste reminiscent of BBQ sauce, of all things! Despite its smoky undertones, this tea brews lightly golden with a clean finish. It was a happy accident discovery on the part of the Tea Tavern that we are delighted to have found and share.

Origin & Craftsmanship

Lengthy fermentation period has endowed the tea with a surprising and complex flavor

Flavor Profile

Light & Clean – Aging has altered the flavor from the usual astringent and grassy tones of most fresh sheng pu'erhs

Complex & Surprising – An unexpected smoky aroma lends complexity to the tea

Benefits

A particularly antioxident-rich tea supports heart health

Brewing Instructions
